While placing among the world’s major airline companies with its recorded growth figures, Turkish Airlines signed the biggest deal of Turkish Civil Aviation history which includes the purchase of 117 aircraft. The signing ceremony was held with the participations of Finance Minister of Turkey Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, Transport – Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister of Turkey Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Turkish Airlines’ Board Chairman Mr. Hamdi Topçu, Turkish Airlines’ CEO Mr. Temel Kotil Ph.D., President and CEO of Airbus Mr. Fabrice Bregier in General Management Building of Turkish Airlines. According to the deal, 25 A321, 4 A320 NEO, 53 A321 NEO and options for 35 additional A321 NEO will be delivered by 2015.
With the deal of these new aircrafts, the fleet number of Turkish Airlines will reach to 375 in total, including cargo airplanes. And the average fleet age will decrease to 5 from its current figure 6.6, by the end of 2020.
“Turkish Airlines which has reinforced its position and energy with the significant investments and growth figures, continues its expansion. Deciding on the aircrafts to be added to our fleet and giving an order accordingly was one of the important milestones of our growth targets. We took these important decisions recently and announced the largest aircraft order in Turkish Civil Aviation history. Today, we are signing an agreement with Airbus which will enable Turkish Airlines to reach its aims for the year 2023, the centenary of the foundation of our Republic. This agreement constitutes a giant step for Turkish Airlines on the way to become the biggest airlines of the Europe.” said Mr. Hamdi Topçu, Board Chairman of Turkish Airlines.

This new A320/A321 NEO order of Turkish Airlines is proving one more time the success of our aircraft is beating the records since the first day of its production.” said Mr. Fabrice Bregier, President and Airbus Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
