ITA Airways, the Italian national carrier, is pleased to announce the opening of sales for the new nonstop Rome – Dakar connection, starting from July 3rd.
The new flight will operate according to the following schedule:
- Rome – Dakar with four weekly frequencies: from July to October, the timetable includes departure from Rome Fiumicino at 3:30 p.m. (local time) and arrival in Senegal at 7:30 p.m. (local time). Starting October 27th, departure from Fiumicino will be at 3 pm (local time) and arrival in Dakar at 8:10 pm (local time).
- Dakar – Rome with four weekly frequencies: from July to October, departure from Dakar Blaise Diagne airport is scheduled at 11:40 pm (local time), with arrival in Rome Fiumicino the following morning at 7:20 am (local time). Starting October 27th, departure will be at 11:50 pm (local time), with arrival in Rome at 6:25 am.
The flights will be operated on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the new generation and technologically advanced Airbus A321neo.
The A321neo is the largest aircraft in the Airbus A320neo family and offers absolute range and performance. Efficient and quiet, the new A321neo boasts more than 20 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat and enables a 50 percent reduction in noise impact compared to previous generation aircraft. It is the first narrow body configured with three separate classes: Business Class (12 seats), Premium Economy (12 seats) and Economy (141 seats including 12 dedicated to Comfort Economy). The cabin interiors, entirely designed by Walter de Silva, perfectly embody typical Italian elegance and style.
The opening of the new Rome – Dakar flight represents a major product for the airline and the second new flight to the African continent taking off in the Summer 2024. It will allow ITA Airways to obtain not only a strategic entry for point-to-point traffic, but also to reach other destinations within both countries, thus combining leisure and business travel.
With this new opening in 2024 summer season, ITA Airways will operate 57 destinations, including 16 domestic, 26 international and 15 intercontinental. In addition, in the summer peak, the Company will fly to 10 additional seasonal destinations, selected from the most popular Mediterranean tourism destinations, including Greece, Spain, Croatia and the Italian islands, reachable through nonstop flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate (Rhodes, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Heraklion, Corfu, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Split and Kefalonia – the two latter only from Rome Fiumicino).
