HAINAN AIRLINES LAUNCHES NONSTOP SERVICE FROM LOS ANGELES TO CHENGDU

Inaugural flight to capital of Sichuan Province on March 15;
Carrier’s second nonstop route from LAX to central China

Hainan Airlines will launch the only nonstop service between LAX and Chengdu, China on March 15 when flight 469 lands at 8 p.m. Hainan will connect passengers to Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, a city with a metropolitan area of over 14 million people famous for its world-renowned spicy cuisine, the home of adorable pandas and rich history.

The new route is part of Hainan’s large-scale expansion in North America. At LAX, Hainan already serves Changsha, capital of Hunan province. Elsewhere on the West Coast, Hainan already operates nonstop service between Las Vegas, Silicon Valley (SJC) and Beijing, and from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to both Beijing and Shanghai. As a mileage partner with Alaska Airlines, passengers, when flying Hainan, can earn and redeem miles on Alaska and connect between Hainan’s west coast gateways and numerous points throughout North America.

The new service between LAX and Chengdu will be flown by Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Hainan is the airline with the most nonstop 787 Dreamliner routes between China and North America.

This flight will feature Hainan’s five-star award-winning service and premium amenities to travelers in Los Angeles. This is the 11th North American route served by Hainan, complementing the airline’s direct service between China and Chicago, Boston, Toronto, San Jose, Seattle, Las Vegas and Calgary.
