Mr. Vassilis Sakellaris, Founder and President of tourgreece, announced the appointment of Mr. Evan A. Pezas to the position of Director Marketing for tourgreece.
A veteran of the Greek Travel Industry, Mr. Pezas has held executive positions in Athens with American Express International, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Kuoni-Hellenic Tours, Royal Olympic Cruises and in the US with “K” Lines-Hellenic Cruises in Los Angeles and Homeric Tours in New York.
Mr. Pezas also held management positions with the Greek National Tourist Organization in New York and Los Angeles and again with the Greek Ministry of Tourism as Director for Canada in Toronto.
Announcing his appointment, Mr. Sakellaris said: “We are very pleased to have Evan join our management team in Athens and this comes at a time when tourgreece is greatly expanding its activities worldwide. We expect a very good year in 2012, despite the many problems our industry faced this year and we are multiplying our sales and promotional efforts, both in the new markets for Greece and our traditional ones.”
Mr. Pezas, a hotelier, is a graduate of the School of Hospitality Management at Cornell University and worked for Hilton International Hotels in Athens, Cairo and Montreal. He moved from hotels to tourism when he first joined the GNTO office in New York, after graduating from College.
Born in Alexandria, Egypt he grew up in Cairo and moved to Athens after graduating from the Greek Community High School in Heliopolis, a suburb of Cairo. He is a member of the Cornell Hotel Society (CHS), where he was just recently appointed Regional Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa and is the founder and past President of the Pan Hellenic Chapter of CHS for Greece and Cyprus.
