The Hotel Grande Bretagne has been included once again in the two most prestigious best hotel properties lists, Condé Nast Traveler (USA) and Travel + Leisure magazine.
The well known publication Condé Nast Traveler (USA) has selected the luxurious and historical hotel of Athens as one of the best hotels, not only in Greece, but globally. More than 25,000 readers of Condé Nast Traveler selected the best hotels, resorts and cruise lines in the world and these have now been published in its January 2011 issue of the magazine.
Travel + Leisure magazine has also included the Hotel Grande Bretagne in its “World’s best hotels 500 list”. The magazine’s global team of reporters and editors has selected the 500 highest-rated hotels from its “World’s Best” survey, identified what sets them apart from their competitors and determined what services, amenities and perks not to miss. Hotel Grande Bretagne’s overall score places it at a higher ranking than many legendary hotels such as Claridge’s in London, Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris and the Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski in Istanbul. With its stunning views over Athens and excellent facilities in the most central location of the capital, the hotel is justifiably described as ‘the very definition of a grand hotel’ in T+L’s list.
Ever since it opened its doors to receive the first visitor in 1874, the Grande Bretagne has been a point of reference in the social, political and economic life of Athens and, by extension, of the whole of Greece. The Hotel Grande Bretagne sets a spectacular example in the international hotel business, offering pure luxury in service and living.
