He pointed out the both parties have recognized the importance of three fundamental elements that guide their actions – innovation and modernization, sustainable practices and collaborative thinking and approach.  As noted by Mr. Tsonis: “We leverage and strengthen the top geostrategic locations of our ports located at the crossroads of different continents through large investments in infrastructure and technology, but also by forging strategic alliances. The challenges facing the industry are complex and multifaceted and no single organization or country could address them alone. The need for cooperation and collaboration among stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to common problems is essential in order to ensure sustainable future prospects”. He added: “parallel to innovation and investments to further modernize the port and promoting a cleaner environment PPA focuses on improving the economic well-being of individuals and communities. At the core of the Company’s corporate responsibility strategy is to share the benefit of the port development with local society especially through charitable donations, community outreach programs, and wide range of initiatives that promote social welfare. PPA’s recognition as one of the most sustainable companies in Greece coupled with a receipt of several international environmental distinctions, is no coincidence. Moreover, the Company continues to make strides in advancing its position in the global port industry and champion a culture of business excellence, innovation, and environmentally friendly practices”.
