PPA S.A. was named again one of the Most Sustainable Companies in the country. This is a top distinction provided by the QualityNet Foundation based on the annual performance evaluation of businesses in sustainable development measured by ESG factors.
PPA has a comprehensive plan of actions to share the benefit of port development with local society, while at the same time is an inclusive company, that respects and cares for own employees. Piraeus Port Authority, fully aligned to the new world order, prioritizes and incorporates in the company’s strategy every aspect related to the Environment, Society and Corporate Governance (ESG), while satisfying investors’ and all stakeholders’ expectations.
During 2022 PPA, in addition to the annual Corporate Responsibility plan, also implemented the following projects: enabled the construction of a unique antiquities’ museum through a total of 13,761 sqm of port land conceded to the Ministry of Culture and Sports for this purpose. Also, as a constant sponsor of Sports and an active supporter of the Greek athletes, PPA has been a proud Gold Partner of the Hellenic Olympic Team in the last Winter Olympic Games. PPA implements a comprehensive strategy towards environmental protection involving energy reduction, clean energy production at the port, constant emissions monitoring and reduction. Overall the company has achieved 12% CO2 emissions reduction in 2022 compared to 2019.
