A unique “Alitalian” party was organised for friends and partners of Alitalia. The impressive Roof Stage of Gazarte in Gazi hosted the special event, which was attended by a host of agents and professionals from within the tourism industry, Alitalia executives, representatives of Athens International Airport, members of the press, as well as the esteemed Italian Ambassador to Greece Efisio Luigi Marras.
With a successful track record in the Greek market from the very first moment to the present day, Alitalia maintains strong partnerships with major travel agents and tour operators in the country and the “Alitalia’s World” party was the perfect opportunity in which to celebrate the company’s ties with the domestic travel and tourism sector.
George Athanasiou, Alitalia’s Country Manager for Greece, Israel, Cyprus and Malta, welcomed the attendees to the Italian airline’s world and highlighted the company’s growth in Greece for another season, as well as the strategic role of Athens in its commercial plan. Nicola Bonacchi, Vice President Leisure Sales at Alitalia, spoke about the company’s excellent business performance, which ranked it as the second most punctual airline in the world in January 2019, continuing its success of 2018. He also stated that in January Alitalia marked an increase in passenger revenue for 14 consecutive months and announced flights to and from Sardinia beginning on April, and a new Rome-Washington flight beginning on 2 May 2019. The honorary guest of the evening, Italian Ambassador to Greece Mr. Efisio Luigi Marras, emphasised the particular importance of Alitalia for Italy and its tourism industry.
Guests of the “Alitalia’s World” party had the opportunity to “board” the Airbus A330 and to get a taste of the hospitality on offer at the Lounge Casa Alitalia through an innovative 3D experience with “Oculus Go”, the unique virtual reality headset, as well as being able to make fantastic videos in the “Orbital Glam Booth”.
The journey continued with the tastes and aromas of Italian cuisine through the inspiring gastronomical selection while the night was accompanied by great music from the DJ. The climax of the party came with an exclusive appearance by the popular band ONIRAMA, who played some of their biggest hits and a repertoire of Italian and international songs, getting the guests to their feet.
