Lufthansa_in_GreeceThis summer, the Lufthansa Group is going to play a leading role in the air traffic between Greece, Europe and the whole world. Investing in Greek Tourism, the Group’s airlines will increase their frequencies to and from Greece and include new popular destinations to their summer flight schedules.

At the same time, Greek passengers will have even more travel choices to Lufthansa Group’s European hubs (Munich, Frankfurt, Vienna, Brussels and Zurich) and additional connecting flights to destinations all over the world, especially in North America and Western Europe.

“We are very proud that Greek passengers are continuing to consider the Lufthansa Group’s airlines as a reliable choice for their leisure and business travel. It is no wonder that Lufthansa Group ranked second largest carrier at Athens International Airport in terms of frequencies. Committed to continuous product and service enhancement, we are investing in fleet renewal, in research and innovation as well as in new online services offering the Greek passengers an upgraded travel experience”, stated Mr. Harro-Julius Petersen, Director Passenger Sales of Lufthansa for Greece and Cyprus.
Lufthansa is once again renewing its vote of confidence and further strengthening its presence in the Greek market, as the airline marks its 60th anniversary, celebrating six decades of offering the highest quality in service with a commitment to offering its customers a world of opportunities.

Lufthansa has already increased its frequencies from Athens to Munich last March adding four weekly flights, and in the upcoming Summer Season, commencing at the end of this month, it will connect the two cities up to 23 times per week. Lufthansa is also including a new destination to its local network of Greek cities. Commencing on the 30th of May, Lufthansa will offer direct flights between Munich and Heraklion, Crete, one of the most popular tourist destinations for Europeans, especially Germans  in the Mediterranean.
Munich Airport has recently been awarded 5-stars by Skytrax and is the first European Airport to hold the prestigious ranking.
The Athens-Frankfurt route is also being bolstered during the summer season with up to 25 weekly flights between both cities.

Starting the 29th of April, 2015, Austrian Airlines will offer four additional night flights per week from Vienna to Athens, returning to the Austrian capital the next morning, thus increasing its flights from seven to 11 weekly. The additional flights offer more connections to North America and Western Europe through the carrier’s Vienna Hub.

Furthermore SWISS is increasing its frequency from Athens and Thessaloniki to Zurich and Geneva while this year it will also connect Heraklion Crete, Corfu and Zakynthos with its Geneva base. Lufthansa Group customers flying Brussels Airlines will be able to travel from Athens to the European capital four times per week, offering convenient connections to European, African and North American cities.
