Good news all around for Eurail travelers this spring! Besides the attractive Mediterranean Deals promotion which is currently running, the French railways are rejoining the revamped Select Pass as from April 1, 2014, and Eurail has now announced Thello as a new benefit partner.
From April 1, 2014, Thello becomes a Eurail benefit partner by offering pass holders a special discount of 25%. Thello operates in France and Italy, connecting world famous European destinations such as Paris, Milan and Venice by night train (www.thello.com). Traveling by night train provides passengers with the added value of saving money and time, whilst arriving well rested and ready to explore a new city the next day.
Thello is a French-Italian railway company born from the partnership between Trenitalia and Transdev. They offer departures every evening from Paris and Dijon in France, and in Italy from Venice, Padova, Vicenza, Brescia and Milan. In Italy, passengers can continue their journey by connecting with the high speed Frecciarossa network; which takes just under three hours to cover the distance of 576 kilometres (358 miles) between Milan and Rome. Pass holders can redeem this special discount from most Eurail Sales Agents, as well as Thello and Trenitalia points of sale.
Additionally, traveling in France with a Eurail Select Pass is possible again. After a one year absence, SNCF, the national French railway, rejoins the redesigned Eurail Select Pass on April 1, 2014. “We are delighted to welcome SNCF back to the Eurail Select Pass. France is a top tourist destination of strategic importance to the European rail network and, as such, of great significance to our Eurail Pass product,” says Silvia Görlach, Eurail Group’s Sales & Marketing Manager. Instead of having the option to choose any three, four or five countries, the Eurail Group offers a Four-Country Pass only. Customers can tailor-make their own pass by selecting four out of 26 countries, provided that they are directly connected by a participating Eurail railway or shipping line. Three and Five Country Select Passes are not available anymore.
Furthermore, travelers can still benefit from the current “Mediterranean Deals” promotion, running till April 30, 2014. This special promotion offers non-European residents a free travel day on any variation of the Italian One Country Pass and the following Regional Passes: France-Italy, France-Spain and Italy-Spain. Thus, Eurail offers its customers even more attractive possibilities to enjoy the extensive and modern rail network of the French, Italian and Spanish railways, ensuring a comfortable, relaxing and hassle free vacation.
