Established competence centre for business travel and event managers
Travel and event managers have to take decisions with the future in mind, which is why they must constantly take their core expertise to new levels and detect changing situations at an early stage. Very shortly, they will be gathering again at their established meeting place, at the ITB Business Travel Days in Berlin. From 6 to 8 March 2013 this three-day event features training courses on basic methods, information on strategies and tools in the field of business and travel event management.
Business travellers have to cope with more and more responsibilities. What changes must be made in travel management spheres in order for companies to better meet their corporate social responsibilities (CSR)? At the Business Travel Strategy Day, under the heading of “Burnout or Balance – CSR and Health on Business Trips“, experts will be providing answers to this question. Other topics include travel managers’ needs with regard to airlines, the introduction of a travel management system in the public sector and tips on how companies can stay mobile in the future.
The Business Travel Practical Day features plenary sessions, for example on “Rental car procurement” and “The ’art’ of being a travel manager”, as well as limited-attendance workshops on “Travel safety and travel risk management“ and ”Fleet management’“.
On 6 March, at the ITB MICE DAY, the focus will be on event management topics. Increasingly, the principle underlying events and incentives is “law and order“. However, calls for compliance, event security and data protection are creating uncertainty among event organisers. This programme draws attention to new event industry rules. Newcomers and professionals will receive specific advice on their day-to-day work.
The Young Professional Day offers career starters and academically qualified young employees in the global travel industry ideas for shaping their future. Three specialist careers will be discussed.
Speakers and panel guests belonging to well-known trade associations will ensure a high standard of lectures at the event. Among the associations represented are the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE), Bundesverband Fuhrparkmanagement, Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik (BME), Verband Deutsches Reisemanagement (VDR) and Vereinigung Deutscher Veranstaltungsorganisatoren.
Two new and exclusive events are devoted to providing decision-makers and senior executives with networking opportunities: the “Home of Business Travel by ITB & VDR” in Hall 7.1a and the ”ITB Corporate MICE Lounge powered by HSMA“ in Hall 8.1.
