The Chinese outbound tourism market increasingly offers business opportunities not only to the most famous destinations and attractions, but also to niche market products and specialised services and destinations. A workshop during the WTM fair in London on Nov. 7, 2012 shows new ways to satisfy the search of the “New Chinese Tourists” for customized experiences.

The workshop “Welcoming Chinese Customers: Niche Markets – Trainings and Quality – Social Media Marketing” is organised by four leading research, consulting and marketing organisations from Europe and China: COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (Germany), COTA China Outbound Tourism Academy UK), Rossetto Solutions (Italy) and Dragon Trail Interactive (China).

The workshop will take place on Nov. 7, 2012, from 16.30-18.00 h, at ExCel South Gallery Room 17. Practical advice will be offered by the experts on how to establish successful offers in the Chinese market in five steps:

1) Understanding the specific demands of Chinese customers

2) Training staff online and offline

3) Gaining visibility through China-specific quality labels for service providers and destinations

4) Developing successful niche products

5) Creating a prestigious brand through social media marketing.

They start to travel more independently, set off to lesser known locations and stay there for longer periods.

WTM World Travel Market is one of the leading global events for the travel industry; in 2012 it will take place from Nov 5-8 at ExCel in London. On Nov. 6, 2012 from 16.45 to 17.30 h a further China outbound tourism related panel discussion will unite Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of UNWTO, Adam Wu, COO of CBN, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt, Director of COTRI and other experts.
