Cultural Foundation of Tinos

The life of a child is full of sounds,colors and touch. When his life is threatened of cancer, then sound, color, touch, acquire, as expected, excess dimensions becoming his weapons against the danger and his need to believe that nothing has changed !
When FLOGA (the Greek parent association) and the Oncology department of Children’ s Hospital of Athens «P & A Kyriakou» invited patients to participate, 20 children, 8 adolescents and 2 siblings responded and through 72 creations dreamed and travelled sharing their thoughts, their search, their feelings. They left their hospital bed and put on the canvas their «whys», pushed the «must» of their treatment and created…. Their creations as persons or as groups (as company as they like to name them), traveled to the island of art and culture, the island of Tinos, and invited us to «see» beyond shapes and colors. Let’s open our «other» eyes and let’s feel sounds and colors in the way that only THESE particular children whose all five senses are constantly tested and pushed to the edge, may offer us!
