All Aboard Yacht Charters offering Alaska cruises through the Inside Passage from May 10th to September 12th, 2011

Alaska cruisesAll Aboard Yacht Charters has announced their 2011 schedule featuring Alaska adventure cruises through the Inside Passage and the Tongass National Forest, one of the last forests of its kind in the world where old growth forests, brown bears, eagles, and wild salmon still thrive. Covering 17 million acres, over 1,000 islands, and stretching an area the length of Florida, the Tongass is America’s largest National Forest.
All Aboard Yacht Charters has been providing the ultimate wildlife, natural history and fishing expedition style cruises in Alaska’s inside passage since 1981. Catering to small groups of no more than ten passengers, the eight day cruises to Alaska feature a front row seat for whale watching, bear viewing, glacier tours, walking in magical rain forests, fishing and kayaking.
The yacht carries four sea kayaks, a rowing skiff and two Boston whalers for shore excursions and fishing. The company has permits to Southeast Alaska’s two bear observatories, both Anan and Pack Creek. They are limited entry and offer unparallel bear viewing opportunities.
As one of Southeast Alaska’s longest term eco tour operators, the permits issued by the US Forest Service, allow shore access to many of Southeast Alaska’s remote areas, such as two bear observatories, Anan and Pack Creek, and Admiralty Island, “the Fortress of the Bears,” where bears outnumber people.
Adventurers can catch salmon, halibut and crab, walk in magical rain forests, visit sea lion rookeries, watch brown bears feeding on spawning salmon, spend time with the graceful humpback whale, and watch eagles soar.
The crew includes a US Coast Guard licensed captain/naturalist (with 30 years cruising experience in Alaska), a first mate, gourmet chef and steward. The classic yacht Discovery has six private staterooms, a classic teak dining room and a covered fantail lounge with decks for viewing wildlife.
The Discovery was originally designed and built as ‘holiday’ for William Morris of the William Morris agency in 1931 in San Pedro, California. From her teak decks and deckhouse to her fine mahogany paneling she reflects an era long past when craftsmanship meant pride in artistry.
Alaska cruise trips run from Seattle, Washington to Ketchikan Alaska; Ketchikan to Juneau; and Juneau to Ketchikan. Cruises run from May to September, 2011. Rates are $3995.00 per person. Special group rates (whole boat) are available. Includes family style gourmet meals and beverages.
