Visitors can once again enjoy the sky-high, 360-degree views of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the Pacific Ocean and LA from the Observation Deck atop the iconic LAX Theme Building. The popular viewing platform re-opened to the public in July, and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the unique views as long as they wish. The Theme Building recently finished a three-year, $12.3 million renovation which made it more accessible and safer. The Observation Deck was closed due to security reasons after Sept. 11, but new security measures have been established, including inspection of personal belongings before visitors enter the non-stop elevator that whisks them from the Theme Building Lobby to the Observation Deck. Prior to its closing, the landmark deck welcomed nearly 3,000 visitors a month.
