New flights from Rome Fiumicino to Mykonos, Alicante, and Trapani, plus additional frequencies in the Mediterranean
ITA Airways is further expanding its offering for the summer season with a package of additional flights and new leisure routes, designed to meet the high travel demand expected during the peak summer months and to confirm the Company’s ability to quickly adapt its network to market needs.
Specifically, from July to September 2026, the Company will introduce three new routes from Rome Fiumicino to Mykonos (starting July 25), Alicante (starting July 18), both operated with two weekly frequencies, and Trapani (starting July 1 with daily service), further enhancing ITA Airways’ Mediterranean network.
In addition to the new destinations, the Company also plans to increase frequencies on existing routes, including flights from Rome Fiumicino to Brindisi, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Palma de Mallorca, and Nice, with the aim of boosting overall capacity during peak travel periods and offering greater flexibility in travel planning.
These developments are part of a broader strengthening of ITA Airways’ summer schedule which, starting June 1, will also see the launch of seasonal flights from Rome Fiumicino to Malaga, Valencia, and Marseille, already announced and available for sale, operating until September 30, 2026.
“The consolidation of our summer offering to some of the most sought-after Mediterranean destinations reflects ITA Airways’ commitment to ensuring targeted growth capable of keeping pace with demand during periods of peak tourist flows,” said Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial, Network & Incentive Management Officer of ITA Airways. “In a complex and constantly evolving geopolitical context, we continue to grow responsibly, strengthening our presence where demand is most dynamic. The leisure segment, in which we continue to invest, plays a key role in enhancing the attractiveness of destinations while also supporting the overall strength of our network”.
With travel demand still strong, ITA Airways continues its network development path by selectively adjusting its seasonal offering. The enhancement of connections at the Rome Fiumicino hub will also help support tourist flows to Italy, improving connectivity with major summer destinations and reinforcing the Company’s positioning as the national reference carrier.
Tickets for the new flights are available on the official website ita-airways.com, on the ITA Airways app, and through the Company’s official sales channels.
