On the occasion of this tourism promotion action, the Regional Governor of Attica, George Patoulis, stated:

Our priority is to showcase the competitive advantages of Attica, its culture and historical monuments, through targeted tourism promotion actions. Our aim is to reinforce Attica’s extroversion, in order to make it a 12-month travel destination. In this context, with coordinated acts and dedicated policies, both in Greece and abroad, we will work towards the enhancement of Attica’s brand name. We will focus on thematic travel, such as MICE and health tourism, since we believe that these can become the fundamental pillars for the developmental restart of Attica Region.

The visit was organised under the coordination of the Executive Regional Councilor for Tourism Promotion, Theodore Koutsogianopoulos.

Both in Moscow and in St Petersburg, the Head of the Region of Attica Directorate of Tourism, Athina Kolyva, elaborated on Attica’s unlimited possibilities for all year round short breaks, while the executives of the Directorate of Tourism showcased the characteristics of mature tourism products that are offered throughout Attica. It is worth noting that the presentations featured the new audiovisual material (video) of Attica Region tourism promotion, while specific fields that primarily interest the Russian travel market were particularly highlighted: health and wellness, ancient and modern culture, luxury/exclusive travel, as well as the options offered in Attica for short getaways to the unique island destinations of the Saronic Gulf.
