A London-based long-haul specialist, with top scores on Trustpilot and well respected and admired by travel agents, has ceased trading.
The Holiday Place, which moved to new offices in Queens Park in December, had around 25 employees and sold holidays to the Caribbean, Asia and the Indian Ocean.
It had been operating for nearly 40 years.
Agents took to social media to express their sadness and shock at the news after it was announced yesterday.
Some of them had only just met with the sales teams earlier this week.
Alan Meadows, trade sales development manager for The Holiday Place and Cuba Holidays, thanked agents for their ‘amazing support’ and said the team was still reeling from the news.
The Holiday Place also traded under other names including Dubai Direct, Egypt Direct, Go Dominican Holidays, Just Caribbean, Ocean Jewels, The Cuba Experience, Cyprus Experience, Kenya Experience and Mexico Experience.
The CAA said it was collating information and would provide updates as soon as possible.
The company’s website has been taken down.
