The European Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (FEG) is pleased to have opened its 20th European Tourist Guides Meeting and it’s delegates Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 20-25 November 2018 hosted in Herakleion, Crete.
The opening ceremony was held on the 20th November 2018 at the Basilica of St. Titus, followed by a cocktail reception at the Loggia building City Council meeting room.
The Panhellenic Tourist Guide Federation, a FEG member since ist foundation in 1986, is the organiser of the event, with its member-association, the Professional Tourist Guides of Crete and Santorini. The Cretan tourist guide association hosts the FEG European Meeting for the second time since 22 years ago in Crete.
Around 200 qualified tourist guides from 25 European and other countries have gathered on Crete island to attend guided tours, lectures and life-long training in several FEG seminars, to network, to taste the local products and to experience the famous Cretan hospitality.
The FEG European Tourist Guide Meetings have been organised each November in a different city of Europe and they are a great chance for the professional tourist guides to meet after the end of
the season. The programme also includes extensions with an offered pre-tour in the Chania and Rethymno area and a post-tour in Athens, Argolis and Delphi classical Greece, which will both be attended by many of the tourist guides.
The whole event is co-organised with the support of the Region of Crete and is under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Tourism, the Greek National Tourism Organisation and the Municipality of Herakleion city.
The FEG Executive Committee and its Greek organisers, our hosts of the Panhellenic Tourist Guide Federation, are delighted to welcome their colleagues, the qualified tourist guides from across Europe. You can find more details on our FEG event under this webpage: https://feg-meeting.com/
