Air Mediterranean, a new Greek airline, held an event on Tuesday, 31st October to celebrate the launch of their new routes out of Athens. The event took place at the Foyer of ‘Pallas’ theatre in Athens among many distinguished guests.

Air Mediterranean is a Greek airline based in Athens who are launching their routes on Thursday, 2nd November 2017. Air Mediterranean will be flying to six international destinations: London, Stockholm, Khartoum, Casablanca, Jeddah and Baghdad. The company held an event to introduce and celebrate their new routes at the Foyer of ‘Pallas’ theatre, in the centre of Athens, on Tuesday, 31st October. The event was held in cooperation with Athens International Airport.

Guests included Greek politicians, members of the Orthodox Church, ambassadors and diplomatic representatives, members of other major airlines, celebrities, as well as Greek and foreign business people.

Leading the event, His Beatitude, Ieronymos II, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece performed a sanctification ceremony, while wishing Air Mediterranean safe travels and success.

Speakers included the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy , Mr. Kouroumplis and the Chairman of Air Mediterranean, Mr. Andrew Hallak.
His Excellency Mr. Kouroumplis, welcomed and introduced the new routes operated by Air Mediterranean as of the 2nd of November. He also referred to the investment opportunities created by Air Mediterranean for Greece, and how the company will help boost tourism and stimulate growth for the economy as it develops.

The Chairman, Mr. Andrew Hallak, addressed the strategic decision to base the company in Greece, saying “When people ask us why [Greece]…my first instinct is to point outside and let the beautiful weather and incredible landscape do the talking. In reality, while that certainly helps, Greece offers an Airline with Air Mediterranean’s vision many advantages…a strategic location as a centralized European hub”. Mr. Hallak finally extended his gratitude and appreciation for all those who attended the launch event, also thanking Air Mediterranean’s employees, partners and collaborators.
