Eurowings is continuing the expansion of its long-haul offering to the USA and will double the number of routes to North America by July 2017. In addition to Las Vegas and Miami, the quality low-cost carrier will then offer affordable flights from Cologne/Bonn to Orlando and Seattle. Flights to Orlando and Seattle can already be booked on the Internet at www.eurowings.comor in the Call Center under the number +49 (0)180 6 320 320. All the Eurowings long-haul flights take off from Cologne/Bonn airport but the airline offers attractive connecting flights from many other airports in Germany and Europe.
The long-haul business is developing consistently alongside the European routes into another important source of income for Eurowings. Well in excess of 420,000 passengers have travelled to a different continent with Eurowings since the launch of its first long-haul flights in November last year. Eurowings offers one of the most innovative products in the industry at a highly attractive price in its booking classes BASIC, SMART and BEST. It includes comfortable seating, high-quality catering and an in-flight entertainment system that meets the most demanding requirements, and there is even Internet on board.
Flights will depart for Orlando in Florida twice a week as of 8 July 2017: the Eurowings long-haul Airbus A330 will take off for the USA on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The city with its two theme parks, Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, is the tourist city of the USA and more than 60 million tourists from all over the world head for it every year. In addition to the theme parks, Orlando offers families other exciting attractions such as the Orlando Eye observation wheel, Madame Tussauds Orlando waxworks and the Sea Life Aquarium. The city is also renowned for its vibrant nightlife with dinner shows, breath-taking live music, clubs and cosy bars. Florida’s fifth largest city is also a shoppers’ paradise.
Flights will leave for Seattle three times a week as of 11 July 2017 – every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Eurowings will also operate this new route with an Airbus A330. Seattle in Washington State is the largest city in the Pacific Northwest of the USA and is almost completely surrounded by water, with the Puget Sound to the west, Lake Washington to the east and Lake Union to the north. The city, with a population of around 3.5 million in the surrounding area,
is surrounded by spectacular scenery: on clear days it’s possible to see the Cascades, a range of mountains to the east, and the Olympic Mountains to the west above the Puget Sound. The snow-covered peak of Mount Rainier dominates the view to the south. The climate is mild because the weather is generally influenced by warm currents in the Pacific. The Seattle Center with its 200-metre tall Space Needle is among Seattle’s most popular attractions. It is located just north of the actual city centre and can quickly be reached by monorail. With magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, it includes the Pacific Science Center, a children’s museum, a children’s theatre, the opera house, the Bagley Wright Theatre, the Seattle Center Theatre, the Key Arena and the Experience Music Project, a recent museum dedicated to contemporary styles of music.
In addition to Las Vegas, Miami and Boston, which is back on offer again in summer 2017, and the new US routes of Orlando and Seattle, Eurowings offers four further destinations in Central America in its long-haul portfolio out of Cologne/Bonn: Havana and Varadero in Cuba plus Puerto Plata and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Last but not least, the airline will also fly to Mauritius and Bangkok in the summer flight schedule 2017.
