Ryanair’s Amadeus partnership starts today (Oct 16, 2014)

ArtworkRyanair, today (16 Oct) announced the “go live” of its new GDS partnership with Amadeus.

From today, all Amadeus-affiliated travel agents across Europe will have access to Ryanair’s low fares and Business Plus service, and Europe’s largest route network.

The combination of Ryanair’s low fares, extensive route network at primary and secondary airports, and leading market share in most of Europe’s major travel markets, together with Amadeus’ technology, will enable Ryanair to further widen its distribution, and follows the recent launch of Ryanair’s Business Plus service and a dedicated corporate and groups service, which enables even more customers access to Ryanair’s low fares, saving Europe’s customers and businesses billions in travel expenses every year.

This is the latest in an on-going improvement of Ryanair’s customer experience, including the launch of the new Ryanair website, a new app with mobile boarding passes, allocated seating, a second carry-on bag allowance and a dedicated family service, Family Extra, as Ryanair continues to offer so much more than just the lowest fares.

Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Jacobs said:

“Our new partnership with Amadeus is a significant development for Ryanair and for businesses and customers across Europe as we continue to improve our business and customer offering. As Europe’s largest airline, we’ll carry over 87m customers this year on the largest route network, connecting 186 airports in 30 countries.

With more than 27% of our customers already travelling on business, we are continuing to improve Europe’s best business service, with the lowest fares, most on-time flights and our tailored Business Plus service. For business travellers, corporations and TMCs, this agreement will mean greater access to our low fares and Europe’s largest route network.”

Amadeus’ SVP Distribution, Holger Taubmann added:

“We are delighted that Ryanair’s fares are live and bookable in the Amadeus system. Ryanair operates Europe’s largest route networks and from today Amadeus subscribers across Europe can book a wide range of the airline’s fares. Our light ticketing technology ensures the booking process is seamless and just the same as booking any full service airline through Amadeus.”
