From the 2nd until the 6th of June 2014 Qatar Airways is participating in the International leading Maritime Event, which takes place at the Athens Metropolitan Expo.
This event takes place every two years and has been organized for over 40 years. Posidonia 2014 is expected to be the biggest edition in its history, with more than 19,000 executives from the Greek and international shipping communities. They are expected to visit the Athens Metropolitan Expo venue during the five-day event.
At the Opening Ceremony of Posidonia 2014 the Greek Prime Minister Antonios Samaras, the Greek Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni, the Greek Minister of Shipping, Maritime Affairs and the Aegean Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and the Posidonia Exhibitions Chairman Themistocles Vokos were welcomed by Qatar Airways Cabin Crew with the traditional dates, symbol of the Middle East hospitality.
The Qatar Airways Greek Sales team can be found at Hall 1 stand 1.315. The team led by Alexandros Michalopoulos, Commercial Manager Greece & Cyprus, has been meeting with corporate buyers from across the World. Alexandros commented, “We are delighted to participate in the world’s premier shipping event again this year, as there is an extremely high quality of corporate buyers and key industry figures.”
Qatar Airways, the State of Qatar’s national airline, has seen rapid growth in just 17 years of operation, to the point where today it is flying a modern fleet of 134 aircraft to 141 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
Over the next few months, the network will grow further with new routes to Miami, USA (June 10, 2014), Tokyo Haneda, Japan (June 18, 2014), Dallas/Fort Worth, USA (July 1, 2014) and Djibouti (July 27, 2014).
