Miss Piggy and Kermit on board with Lufthansa

Miss Piiggy - LufthansaFollowing ‘Planes’, the second Disney partnership with ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ / Toys on board, cuddly toy boarding cards and online games

Lufthansa passengers can now look forward to a beastly treat on board. Following the film ‘Planes’, the airline is embarking on the next round of its partnership with Disney, just in time for the German premiere of ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ on 1 May.

Under the slogan ‘Join the Muppets. With Lufthansa.’, the carrier is presenting the new Disney film with a broad-based on- and offline campaign and is thereby continuing to establish itself as a family-friendly airline. This not only means that Lufthansa passengers of all ages get to enjoy the global premiere on board an airliner on 1 July. Muppets fans can also look forward to plenty of fun and prizes before, during and after their trip.

Taking off with the Muppets
Just in time for the Easter holidays, Lufthansa employees will be handing out Kermit and Miss Piggy sleep masks to passengers at the hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. The masks are decorated with the eyes of the two stars, and make the flight even more relaxing for those wearing them, as well as giving fellow passengers something else to smile about. During the flight, younger passengers can look forward to Muppets presents, such as drinking straws, postcards and a Muppets activity book that gives them plenty of things to make and puzzles to solve, as well as pictures to colour in. And, of course, the in-flight entertainment includes the feature film ‘The Muppets’ to get all Muppets fans in the mood for the new ‘Muppets Most Wanted’.

During the school holiday period in April and May, the Muppets will also be the main attraction at the family check-in desks in Frankfurt and Munich, besides the passengers, of course. Figures from the film adorn the airport signs, and there will also be the popular Muppets boarding cards for children and their cuddly toys.

Win a trip to Los Angeles
On LH.com/muppets there are three exciting online games to be played, each presented by a character from the film. They will bring the Muppets cult back to life again, because players will be able to interact virtually with their favourite characters. Whether they choose to help Kermit search for the lost Muppet family at the airport or watch Miss Piggy at large in the art world, entertainment is guaranteed. All those interested can also send greetings cards from the Muppets to their friends. And what’s special about it is that the designs can be sent both virtually, as an e-card, and as a real postcard.

In addition to all the fun and games, Lufthansa also has plenty of prizes to be won. First prize is a trip for four people to Los Angeles with a visit to the Disney film studios – including flight, hotel accommodation and car hire.

A trailer, which has been screened in cinemas since 1 April and will later open the main feature, offers a very special treat for Muppets fans: Miss Piggy, on board in Business Class, prepares viewers for the film in her own inimitable way. The trailer will also be shown in a slightly adapted version on Lufthansa’s in-flight entertainment before the Muppets films (available in German and English on HYPERLINK “http://www.youtube.com/user/Lufthansa/featured”http://www.youtube.com/user/Lufthansa/featured).

At the heart of the new Muppets film is the green frog Constantine, who is a dead ringer for Kermit, apart from a conspicuous mole on his right cheek. In contrast to his deadpanning doppelgänger, however, he is a nasty piece of work. Constantine is the most dangerous criminal in the world, who has escaped from prison and now has a price on his head. While on the run, his resemblance to Kermit causes plenty of comical calamities. And what’s more, the villain could not have turned up at a worse moment, because the Muppets are just embarking on a European tour and travelling to London, Madrid, Dublin and Berlin to promote their new show.
