On the occasion of the exhibition tourism World Travel Market in London, the President of SETE , Andreas Andreadis, made the following statement:
” Increased by 10% appear bookings to our country from the British market in 2014 compared with 2013, a first sample of 200,000 bookings which constitute about 10% of the expected total visitors from this country. Compared with our main competitors, Spain and Turkey, where bookings are at the same levels as last year, it seems Greece is gaining market share, while Egypt is in serious decline. These are the first positive indications of the continuation of this year’s dynamic Greek tourist product.
The other positive sign is that they have planned for a second consecutive year, 1,000,000 new extra airseats to our country. If the course of the British market appear in other countries, where pre-bookings have not begun yet, it is possible to achieve the 2014 target of 18 million arrivals and 13 billion Euros in direct revenue, including cruises. It is a prerequisite for the country to continue to project an image of stability, determination, and dedication to the achievement of its key objectives, something which we are all responsible “
