A British teenager is in intensive care in the popular Turkish resort of Marmaris after being knifed 17 times.
Dwayne Ward, 17, was found dumped in a small public gardens, stripped and with wounds to his throat, chest, groin, legs and back.
The Sun said a police report revealed the victim, from Middlesbrough, had described how he had been having fun while out drinking with his older brother and had kissed a Turkish girl in a bar.
“I went to another bar and that was when they hit me in the head with a hard object. I don’t remember the rest,” he is reported as saying.
The brothers had been on holiday with their mother staying at the Ali Baba Hotel.
Two local men, aged 24 and 26, have been arrested in connection with the incident, which happened in the early hours on Tuesday.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it was supporting the family.
The attack comes in the same week as two other British holidaymakers died in separate drowning incidents at beaches in Turkey’s Olundeniz district.
