The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) is delighted to welcome Lithuanian-based carrier, Avion Express, into membership of the Association.
Established in 2005 as ‘Nordic Solutions Air Services’ operating charter and wet lease flights on Saab 340 cargo and passenger aircraft, the airline re-branded in 2008 as Avion Express with plans to develop as a wet lease specialist. It took delivery of its first Airbus A320 aircraft in April 2011 with a further two the following December, bringing its total current fleet to 3 x Saab 340 and 3 x Airbus A320 aircraft. Avion Express has recently signed a contract for the lease of two Airbus A320 aircraft to Icelandic carrier WOW Air which begin operations from 01 June 2012.
Aleksei Lupitski, Managing Director of Avion Express, said: “We are very pleased to be joining ERA at this exciting time for our airline. We are sure that there are many areas where membership will prove extremely beneficial to Avion Express, and we look forward to becoming a part of the members’ network where we can exchange ideas and experiences with other airlines.”
Mike Ambrose, director general, ERA, says: “Avion Express is a rapidly expanding airline showing great entrepreneurial spirit in the current economic climate. They will be able to make good use of the extensive knowledge base and community network that ERA membership offers, as well as the consultancy services provided by ERA Directorate staff. We extend a warm welcome to Aleksei Lupitski and all of his team.“
