A new Gatwick Airport lounge is due to open before the 2011 summer season begins.
The lounge, which will be located in the travel hub’s North terminal, will feature a travel spa, games facility and mini cinema.
“At Gatwick, we want our passengers to feel as if their holiday starts right here at the airport and not at the point at which they reach their chosen holiday destination,” Robin Longden, Gatwick Airport’s chief Commercial Officer, said.
The new No. 1 Traveller Lounge can be accessed for £20, a fee which allows passengers to relax in the facility for up to three hours. Holidaymakers and those travelling for business can also purchase treatments at the travel spa, such as massages, manicures and hairdressing.
Passengers will also be treated to complementary refreshments, food, newspapers, TV, magazines, Wi-Fi and a designated play area for young children.
In addition, the Gatwick Airport November 2010 traffic performance survey revealed that passenger numbers increased by 2.7 per cent year-on-year for the winter 2010 season’s first full month.
