Travelport and Air Malawi signs new exclusive full content agreement

TravelportTravelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, has announced a global full content agreement with national carrier – Air Malawi.  The new deal, which takes immediate effect, will see Air Malawi provide its full published inventory, including web fares, on an exclusive basis to Galileo and Worldspan-connected users worldwide.

“Air Malawi plays an important role in the sub-Sahara region and their routes are proven to be popular amongst travellers. We are excited to have secured this exclusive full-content agreement for all our users worldwide,” said Mark Meehan, managing director, Travelport Africa.

“We are particularly pleased to be signing this agreement with Travelport, as it gives the travel trade both in Africa and beyond, greater access to our inventory. It very much underscores our ongoing commitment to partnering with the travel industry,” said Temwachi Changwa, commercial director at Air Malawi.

Air Malawi started operations in 1964 and operates flights to Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam, Lusaka, Harare from its hub in Blantyre.  It also operates the popular domestic route between Blantyre and Lilongwe.
