SWISS adds pre-select meal option to further enhance its Geneva Business Class experience

Starting today, SWISS Business Class customers traveling from or to Geneva can pre-order their main inflight meal free of charge for any short-haul flight of more than two hours. The new meal option is available for any such flight departing after 10:00 from 4 June 2025 onwards.

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is extending its pre-select meal option, which has already proved very popular for its long-haul services and most short-haul flights from Zurich. As a result, Business Class customers traveling on SWISS flights from or to Geneva can now also pre-select their main inflight meal from a choice of six hot meal options up to 24 hours before their scheduled departure. The offer is available for any flight departing after 10:00.

The six pre-select hot meal options include two exclusive creations:

  • a fish dish inspired by the current ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’ menu, which is generally only offered on SWISS long-haul services, and
  • the popular Zurich-style sliced veal with mushroom cream sauce and rösti, which is such an iconic item of Swiss cuisine.

The four further hot meals will always comprise two vegetarian options and two further meat dishes. The pre-select facility offers travelers unique access to this entire expanded menu range, along with the usual accompaniments such as salad, cheese and dessert. The option, which is provided free of charge, enables SWISS customers to further personalize their inflight culinary experience, while also helping to ensure that more sustainable use is made of the foodservice resources involved.

A wider choice and more sustainable resource management

While offering its customers a welcome wider range of inflight meal choices, SWISS’s pre-select option also helps the company to better plan its meal service provision. This in turn allows the resources required to be used in a more sustainable way, as the more tailored catering uplifts reduce both the numbers of unused meals and general food waste. SWISS’s pre-select meals can be ordered online via the SWISS Business Pre-flight Shopping webpage between six weeks and 24 hours ahead for any flight departing after 10:00. For flights departing before 10:00, the inflight foodservice offer remains unchanged.

An innovation for Geneva-New York flights, too

SWISS is also expanding its range of pre-select meal options for its long-haul services between Geneva and New York (JFK). First and Business Class guests on these flights can now additionally pre-order the renowned Zurich-style sliced veal with mushroom cream sauce, which has proved one of the most popular choices to date among Zurich-based long-haul travelers.
