From the 13th until the 16th of November 2014 Qatar Airways participated for a second consecutive year in the Greek leading Tourism Event, which took place at Helexpo.
Philoxenia 2014 is making use of its dynamic and its 30 years- long expertise, remaining the most important meeting point of the professionals from Greece and the Balkans. The purpose of the organization was to highlight the latest developments in the international tourism industry, thus enriching the Greek exhibition market with a high level event of a strictly professional orientation.
The 30th Philoxenia attracted hosted buyers from Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, India, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, the Netherlands, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, South Africa and the United States.
At the Opening Ceremony of Philoxenia 2014 the Greek Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni and the President of TIF-Helexpo, Mr. Tasos Tzikas, were welcomed from Qatar Airways Cabin Crew and Commercial Team showcasing Middle Eastern hospitality and 5-star services.
The team led by Alexandros Michalopoulos, Commercial Manager Greece & Cyprus, has been meeting with corporate buyers and travel agents from across the World. Alexandros commented, “We are delighted to participate in the 30th Philoxenia again this year, as there is an extremely high quality of corporate buyers and key industry figures.”
Qatar Airways has recently moved its hub and all its operations to Hamad International Airport. The new airport is the world’s latest global gateway, with state-of-the-art facilities and passenger focused design. Built to accommodate 30 million passengers annually, rising to 50 million upon full completion, the airport covers an area of 29 sq. kms and is 60 per cent built on land reclaimed from the Gulf.
Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 17 years of operation, to the point where today it currently is flying a modern fleet of 142 aircraft to 145 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
