Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, and Air France, the flag carrier of France announce the expansion of their code share partnership, which will offer guests enhanced network connectivity to 12 major cities across Europe and the United Kingdom. The new code share flights open for sale from 2nd April, and will be available for travel effective 14th May 2014.
This code share partnership will offer to the Greek travelers a new opportunity to explore India on daily basis with a variety of AF flights to/from Athens.
Currently Air France places its marketing code on Jet Airways’ domestic routes between Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru to Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. With the commencement of Jet Airways’ Mumbai-Paris operations on the 14th of May 2014, Jet Airways will now be placing its marketing code on Air France operated flights beyond Paris, providing seamless connections across domestic France, Europe and the United Kingdom. With this expansion in the code share arrangement, Jet Airways’ guests will be able to fly between India and Paris in France and beyond to various points across India and Europe on flights operated by both carriers.
The code share destination beyond Paris where Jet Airways will place its marketing code on Air France operated flights are:
– Nice, Lyon, Marseille, and Toulouse in France
– Barcelona and Madrid in Spain,
– Hamburg in Germany,
– Prague in the Czech Republic,
– Dublin in Ireland and
– Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle in United Kingdom
Guests can now book a ticket between Greece and India with Jet Airways via the airline’s website www.jetairways.com or through travel agencies.
Mr Gaurang Shetty, Senior Vice President – Commercial, Jet Airways, said, “We are pleased to have the expanded code share partnership with Air France as it will further strengthen the global network of both airlines and provide increased benefits to all our guests. Jet Airways has constantly endeavored to offer enhanced travel opportunities to its guests and our code share agreement with Air France is another distinctive travel solution. India and Europe share strong ties, ranging from
leisure and business tourism to commercial trade. With this expanded code share agreement, we will be able to offer our guests wider access, unmatched connectivity and seamless travel to key markets across Europe, with France’s premium airline.”
Mr Tjalling Smit, Senior Vice President Middle East, Gulf and India – Air France-KLM, said, “Air France is pleased to further intensify its cooperation with Jet Airways. As a first step of the cooperation in summer 2013, Jet Airways offered Air France new domestic destinations in India via code share. It paved the way for this next step. Through the code share expansion on Air France flights, Jet Airways is now granted access to European cities they currently do not serve. I am fully confident that this extension, based on the complementarities of our respective networks, will be successful in the fast growing market between India and Europe.”
