Air Canada rouge takes to the skies with non-stop Athens-Toronto and Athens-Montreal service

Air Canada rouge takes to the skies today as it launches seasonal non-stop service between Athens and Toronto/Montreal. Air Canada rouge is Air Canada’s new leisure airline, part of the Air Canada Leisure Group, along with Air Canada Vacations.

Air Canada rouge offers 4 flights from Athens to Toronto and 2 flights from Athens to Montreal per week, operated by Boeing 767-300ER aircraft which offer three comfortable seating options; rouge, rouge Plus and Premium rouge.

Isabelle Knoblauch, General Manager Switzerland, Austria, Italy & Greece at Air Canada hosted the ceremony to mark the inaugural Athens-Toronto flight. She was joined by His Excellency, Robert Peck, Ambassador to Canada in Greece as well as by AIA’s (Athens International Airport) CEO, Dr Yiannis Paraschis and Ms. Ioanna Papadopoulou, Director, Communications & Marketing.

Complimentary meals and non-alcoholic beverages will be served on flights to and from Europe, along with alcoholic beverages and wine available for purchase. Air Canada’s enRoute magazine will be available free of charge on all flights.

Complimentary meals with wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for Premium rouge customers on all flights.

A larger pillow, amenity kit and hot towel service are also offered complimentary to Premium rouge customers on flights to and from Europe.

For onboard entertainment, Air Canada rouge customers will be introduced to player, the next-generation in-flight entertainment system streamed directly to their wireless device. player will be complimentary until August 1 and customers in rouge and rouge Plus seating will then pay  a nominal fee of $5 CDN  for  unlimited access to movies, TV shows and kids programming.  Themed music playlists and destination information are streamed for free.
