The Region of Attica marked a very successful participation at the 33rd International Tourism Exhibition “Philoxenia”, a major international tourism event, which took place from the 10th to the 12th of November 2017 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition & Conference Center. Thousands of attendees visited the Attica’s impressive booth.During the exhibition, the Region of Attica had the opportunity to present to the general public its new tourism identity, through its new tourism logo.

The participants responded positively at Attica’s new tourism logo, with its charming clarity inspired by the cultural elements and shapes, the colors of the sea and the light, which characterize Attica through the years.

During the exhibition, the executives of the Tourism Department of the Region of Attica had the opportunity to meet with many important tourism professionals and journalists from England, USA, Germany, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Denmark, Norway, Turkey, Belgium, Sweden, and the Netherlands. The Executive Regional Councilor for Tourism, Mrs. Eleni Dimopoulou, welcomed the successful presence of the Attica Region in the exhibition, stating: «This year’s participation was important for the Region of Attica, because in addition to the aesthetic excellence of the booth and the particularly positive reaction to the new tourism logo, very important presentations of Attica, as a distinctive tourism destination, were made to representatives of the international tourism market. I am extremely pleased with the efficient work of the Directorate of Tourism, that has concluded yet another highly demanding participation in an international event, as well as with the excellent cooperation with the Municipalities of Hydra, Poros, Saronic and Athens’ International Airport, which actively supported the operation of the booth of the Region of Attica, showcasing in parallel, the tourism destinations and available infrastructure, all around Attica».
