ESTA authorizationUS Authorities: customer information for travel to the USA

Before travelling to the United States, all passengers from a country included in the U.S. visa waiver program must first request and be granted ESTA authorization (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).

Starting on Wednesday 8 September 2010*, the US authorities have decided that this authorization, which up to now was free of charge, will cost a set sum of 14 USD and can only be paid for by credit card.

Air France adds that the US authorities forbid travel for any passenger who has not paid this sum.

There is only one official website to submit an ESTA request: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov.
Useful advice: customers should ensure they have entered their exact passport number and the country which issued the passport.

Further information can be found at airfrance.com (“preparing your trip/safety measures” section), at travel agents, Air France ticket offices, or at 3654 (in France).

*the date of 8 September corresponds to the date of request and not the date of travel.
